Going away at the end of March for 4 days

My sweet neighbor and my husband take care of the ducks and doggy while I am gone. One time it was just my neighbor for a week. I am very particular as well. She was so excited/nervous that she wanted to practice while I was still home. She went through the routine with me twice a day for a few days and then did it on her own for a few days before I left. She actually craved duck time so much that she admitted to coming over several times throughout the day to give them healthy snacks and get some duck love. My dog had even lost weight from going on more walks than I take her on. And I take her on a lot of walks. This is nice since I live in the middle of nowhere and have very few neighbors at all to even ask. Now she asks when I am going away again because she loves them so much. Ha!

You are so lucky!

My husband and I take care of animals for a living...we have seen it all! Its good to give as much info as you can.
I would leave detailed instructions including your contact information, what vet you use (just in case) and an emergency contact info of someone in the area (if you have one).
Many times we are asked to provide daily text updates/pictures as well.
I'm sure you will be worried about your babies while you're gone so best to give too much info than not enough :)

Home safe and sound after another 13 hour drive! Pet sitter did a great job. I did stress safety over fun time, so the ducks had a very boring 4 days and were a bit wired. Daphne is definitely limping slightly, but is in otherwise good spirits. There’s no obvious wound, although I suspect it may be related to the nails I keep meaning to trim, but hadn’t yet done so (her “back” nails are long). I’ll get a better look tomoow when there is more daylight. Right now, I must go tend to the cats, who are currently absolutely nuts and are knocking everything over!

Btw, it does not appear that Goon 2 is broody (yet). Maybe she was just in the process of laying when the pet sitter saw her? I will have to ask how many eggs were produced while we were gone.... still waiting on Goon 1 to start!
