I went and leaned next to the perch at bedtime every night for just under a week. They waited for me to do this, fussing mightily as it got darker. as soon as I was there, they flew onto their new perch and after they calmed down I would leave. Now they perch and sleep on their own. By the way, this process made them tamer, and I learned a lot about who needed to snuggle and who went to sleep first! They were really comforted by my presence during the transition.
