Going rate for babysitting!

Up at this end of Ohio, they are getting between 15 and 20 dollars a day per kid. That was taking food for them including snacks. A few of us moms got together and set our own rate and food thing. None of us was working very many hours and the pay was not that good, so it worked out for all of us.

Sigh, as a public school teacher I would love to get paid per kid...lol

I always say that I am their teacher not their babysitter - If I was the babysitter I would get paid per kid!

I agree with you, I'm a bus driver (sub) last year and I drove more then the normal driver but got paid less. Also had to deal with kids being twice my size if not bigger and putting their behinds in place where they belonged. At first didn't know if I wanted to deal with that but it turned out to be a great year. I turned that bus around more than once and had parents come get their kids just to get my point acrossed. Teachers do not make enough for what they have to do. Some parents here pay the tution for full day kindergarten because its cheaper than daycare.

I think $75 sounds reasonable. Anything over 12 hours a week would be $10 an hour after that.

I charge 100 per kid a week. 8 hrs max a day , 5 days a week.
Includes meals
I give a discount for siblings so 2 would be 160-175. Overnight care is more~
I paid 135 per week 10 years ago for brittany when she was a toddler~

i also tend to get alot of single moms who make a little to much for subsidy and still make peanuts~

I pay 30 bucks a day to send my son to a farm, he does all the chores and I pay them..... what a gig that is!

I watch 2 year old triplets and I get paid $7.75 an hour for all three kids.
