Going to be out of town for hatch day!?

Totally not what I planned - these were supposed to be under our broody... but she changed her mind and started moulting instead!! SO we are going to be about 5 hours drive away - we were supposed to be away over night but now I am contemplating trying to get a ride back Saturday night instead of only getting back on Sunday midday... What do you think and how should I prepare for this?

Prepare for what? The chicks hatch themselves.

Seriously, they can stay in that bator for up to 3 days after hatch without harm. Go on your trip, the chicks will be there when you get back.

If yours are like mine - the hatch day will be 2 days later then expected and right before you decide they're duds LOL! They will hatch fine without you there and it's probably better for you not to be there b/c you may be tempted to try and help them out - I have to fight the urge to open the bator myself.
