going to borrow a octagon 20 any tips you would like to share?

You can use them. But if you leave them out and put eggs in like blocks (offset) you can get more than 20 eggs in the bator.

If there is a space where they wobble cut down a toilet paper cardboard tube to use as a spacer.

@Snoozeys is talking about taking them out for hatch
On a few occasions when i wasnt aware of the eggs development stage i had left the dividers still in ... once i saw they had pipped i quickly removed them ... a few times they had hatched before i realised and found a chick with its head stuck !!!

She is loaning the octagon 40, because she could not find her 20, the temp reads 37.4(english hehe 99.32f) but my thermometer inside the incubator reads 38, (100.4) what do u guys think? no eggs in it yet. I don't want to cook the eggs.

What is incubator set at? Is it adjustable or preset temp.

I personally think it's close enough you won' have any issues getting them to hatch.

Best of all twice the capacity.

My eggs came, and I set up the eggs in the 40 with the dividers and put in the card board tubes at the end of the dividers like they suggested on You tube, and when I put in the last paper tube and it slightly expanded I heard a "tish" sound. I hoped it was just sound of paper. But it was one of the PV2 eggs above. I put nail polish on the crack, and put it in a diff incubator, but it was a pretty good crack. I also added some of my own eggs since there is room.
View attachment 1226782 The valley we live in is void of fertile eggs, so this is all I had to put in the incubator.

We had 2 black outs during the hatch, and the octagon 40 I borrowed the lady said eas running hot, not wanting to burn up my eggs I kept a thermometer on them and listened to that temp. I pulled out many clears,

They seemed to be behind. Only 8 of these hatched and they took longer to hatch because the tips were clear, on some. As far as the octagon 40 I didn't use the turner, and self moved the incubator using the incubator shape, 3 positions slant to the left, slant to the right, and the middle, in the future, I would not set them to middle position, just right and left.
