going to buy some egg layers

what should I look for when buying these hens?? I certainly don't want to buy someone else' issues???

How old are they?

If they are over a year old, you won't get much out of them.

Also you check each one out from head to toes.

they are exactly the same age as the ones and the same breed I lost this spring ...1 yr old .....red stars/sexlinks

Make sure they have nice red combs and wattles. Check that they are active and not just sitting fluffed up. At a year old you should still get plenty of egg production from them.
