no kidding once my DD found out all you have to do is raise your have and whammo you get 'em she was trying to bid all the time even on game birds a roll of chicken wire you name it and when we actually won the first silkies she jumped out of her chair. the older couple that was sitting right across the isle from us seen how excited she got and started giggling at her (in a nice way)
OH MY, You did good on Mama and her babies. This is what we did and ended up with three splash chicks, two blacks and one grey.
They are happy pullets and cockerels, the splashes are still in the nursery.

Do I need to separate the hen and the babies?
Can the babies eat layer food till i am able to get chick starter crumbles from the farm supply store?
Also If I can keep babies in with mom do I still need a heat lamp?
I never go for show quality with any of my chickens if I like how thay look then thats good enough for be this is just a hobby for me. now with that said as time goes on I may get more serious about things who knows
they said that Dharma and Greg were "beardless silkies" I know the obvious they have no beards but what the heck does that mean? Is that actually a type of silkie or is that their way of adding some pizazz to a cross breeded chicken?
Those guys are cute! My dd is in love and says we have to put them on the 'wish list'.
Think I may need to leave her at home when I go to the Mount Forest F&F club's sale at the end of April...I could see me being talked into sneaking chickens into the house...lol.
