Going to try hatching emus again!!

How exciting~! Been in the hatching spirit all month (Despite the crap weather) will be watching this thread for a bit to learn as much as I can. Might try setting some emu eggs myself if this these fellers don't hatch.. Fingers crossed all goes well :fl

Oh I have a friend with 4 eggs going and two are definately alive so you will have emu babies! I do suggest trying hatching them as it’s a rewarding experience but make sure before you hatch eggs, you have a plan for the babies and a safe and appropriate area and fence for them. Those suckers can jump!

Today we had heavy rain and the power went out. My good friend has emu eggs going in his incubator so he came over and grabbed mine and put them in his until the power came back on. I went and got them and before I put them back in I did the heat test. Well, both eggs were extremely warm on the chick side and super cool on the air cell end. So that is a really great sign! Will do the tilt test when we weigh them again.

Yikes, glad the eggs are doing well.. @FishMtFarm a bit off topic but I was thinking about turning my goat pasture into an emu run.. it's about 250x300 ft, the fence is only 5 feet high though.. Would emus be able to jump that?
Also, is 250x300 big enough for 2 fully grown emus? If not I could always add on to the run no problem.

Some exciting news. Both eggs have a noticeable tilt! AA is off in weight by 6 ounces so I moved it in the incubator closer to the vent to encourage better moisture loss. BB is almost right on track being less than an ounce off! So we have about 3 more weeks to get AA on track better. By next week hopefully we can see movement.
