Anyone had chicks feather in with white tipping on Gold Laced? They're suppose to be purebreds but some almost look more partridge and some almost look mille fleur. They all do have some of the gold lacing on them though.

We have a few gold laced polish that have a few white feathers in their top notch I know they are pure . I am hoping it goes away after the molt. They are only 22 weeks old so heres hoping.

Post some pictures. One picture is worth a thousand words. As suggested by SGM, they may molt the white tips. It depends on the age of the birds.

Well mine are chicks and are feathering in. They're about 3-4 weeks now I think.

Here's some pictures of them..

Ok, thanks! I hope so. I really want great lacing on these. I got them for a breeding project.

They look like they have feathers on their feet. If they do, they are some kind of a cross breed. Did they have white in their chick down?

Sorry, I didn't specify breed. These are Gold Laced Cochin bantams.

Here is one as a chick. They were all like this, some were just a little darker.

I was thinking wyandotte. I am trying to figure out why they would show the white tips. There may be an environmental component to the white tips on the feathers. I do not have an answer, I guess I will throw that one into my " X files".
