Gold Laced Orpington- For Learning and Sharing

Thank-you for your kindness. On a bright note, I was able to get a few eggs from a gal down in Texas. They are in the bator right now. First candle is on Saturday. Hoping and praying for the best. :)

YIPEE!! I'M NOW THE PROUD MAMMA OF A GOLD LACED CHICK!!! He or she hatched out around lunchtime today, and is the most lively chick in the hatcher. I'll be glad when the rest of the hatch is done so I can get him eating and drinking.

Hi! How exciting! Isn't the ginger color so pretty? Did you have only one in lockdown? Or are you still expecting more to hatch?

Oh yes, I just love the.color. This was the only GLO in lockdown. The rest are paint silkies, black copper marans, and black English orps. 5 chicks total out so far and 6 left to go.

Still don't have pics yet...sorry....soon I promise. This chick is Greenfire lines...has anybody tried feather sexing this line? I want to give it another day, but at first glance it looks like I have a pullet.....My daughter has already named her SweetPea.
