Gold laced orpingtons?

Now now, dont get me started on the gold laced Orps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That one might just be over my head! He is certainly a stunner. I saw that picture awhile back when Julie posted it on the other BYC. It always seems that the most eyecatching birds are overseas, as is Julie's friend.

Usually it's Dorkings and Faverolles, especially colors you don't see much, if at all, here. This rooster really is breathtaking. I'm glad this photo was posted again, it really is a work of art.
 
Wow he sure is handsome! I think I might have to print his picture and use it as a pinup in the coop to get my girls to lay! 23 weeks and still waiting.

I only have buffs and one blue cockerel.

I wonder if you crossed a gold laced standard cochin with a orpington if you would get something similar in appearance... maybe.

You might. Cochins were used in the making of the Orpington, as I recall. Dont know how to get rid of the feathered legs, though. Guess some would have them and some not and you just keep the ones that don't and go from there.
