Orpingtons were originally created by crossing Minorcas, Langshan, and Rocks. If I were going to try and get the gold laced in the birds I think I would use Gold laced Wyndotte and then work on breeding back for a straight comb and size and leg color. Just my humble opinion. I should be getting a book in OCt from England on breeding by the Queen Mothers fowl keeper. He is considered and expert on Orpington Fowl. Hope I will gain some knowlege from this book. I give a review when it gets here.

Awesome bird. Really great to look at. He has made it into my official screesaver.

Even I could be swayed by a flock of GLO's. Woudl suere be nice to see some being offered in egg or day old form.
