I have 2 glw from Tractor Supply (straight run), one is definitely a rooster - he's been crowing for a month. I figured him out pretty quickly from his development.

My other GLW, I tagged as a pullet. She fit the development profile...until recently. This morning, she tried to crow. She has not displayed any other male behaviors (Roo is already trying to mate with my older chickens; Lacey has female behaviors and clucks.) Her comb and wattles are smaller, and didn't start growing until a month after Roo's - but they are bigger than any of my other pullets/hens. Smaller chest than Roo, and her legs are a bit thinner. What do you all think?

ETA: they were purchased on March 12 as day-olds.

'Lacey' is a cockerel. Frequently a subordinated cockerel has lowered testosterone production; therefore, he may be slower to mature sexually. Basically the actions of the dominant cockerel have an impact on his metabolism and actions.

Thank you...I guess I have to tell my husband he was right.
