Gold sex link or something else?

These are purebred Rhode Island Red pullets. As you can see, my production reds are considerably lighter in color and slightly different in body shape. Our Red or Gold Sex Links are far more rusty copper in color and the body shape is altogether different. These pullets belong to KathyinMo and I hope she doesn't mind me using her photo.
Oh man........I've been drooling over the really good Barred Rocks, I'd never even looked at the really good Rhode Islands...........those are very nice birds! That color is fantastic.

*I'm okay with my hatchery birds and mutts. I'm okay with my hatchery birds and mutts. I'm okay with my hatchery birds and mutts. Repeat until it sinks in. They're so nice*

Ha ha ha. Good attitude. Actually, we DO have both true bred, heritage birds and modern, hatchery stock and we have hatchery stock we have bred up now for 4 years. They are really, really different. In our world, they both have their place. We adore the heritage fowl, but also enjoy the vibrancy and thrift of the utility bred birds. They are different and we enjoy the difference, frankly.
