We went to TSC for our first chicks ever - asking for 3 Gold Sex Links and 3 Buff Orpingtons. Well, when we got home I discovered that 1 was definitely a Naked Neck... so now I am a little unsure about the others. These pretty ladies (fingers crossed!) are a little over 3 weeks old today (according to what I was told at TSC...) and I was hoping for some help as to what breeds the other 5 are. Also, is it too early to tell if they are pullets or cockerels? I had no idea that it was such a gamble getting chicks at TSC until I did more research, but I don't plan on buying anymore from them going forward.

#1, 2 & 3 - Gold Sex Links?
#4 & 5 - Buff Orpingtons?
#6 - Naked Neck (even though we are confident in what she is, I just had to include the cutie too!)

Thank you for any help!!

I've never had a naked neck before. Our local feed store actually had some last week, but I've sorta already gone over my limit for chicks this year  so I had to walk away without getting any :rant:barnielol

Our little beauties are now 6 weeks old - wow do they grow fast!! Is it soon enough to tell if our Buff Orpington is a pullet or cockerel? The first photo is the one in question, the second photo is the other Buff that I'm pretty sure is a pullet. They are supposedly the same age, but the one in the second photo is quite larger than the first.

The third and fourth photos were labeled as gold sex links, but doing research has me wondering if they are gold or red. Any thoughts on this would be SO appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Gold sex links and red sex links are... pretty much kinda sorta 'almost' the same. Once they're adults there isn't really too major of a difference in appearance. And as for that little Orpington, it does have a pretty big comb for six weeks. Maybe post more pics in a couple of weeks, if it's a cockerel it'll be more obvious by then. :)
