What did the chicks end up being? I see this is from 2012 but for future chicks, Look for rounded and pointy feathers as they get older. Hens can also have large combs sometimes so can’t base the sex solely on that. Just depends on the bird themselves and how fast the individual bird grows. When in doubt, wait until they’ve matured.

Campines are hen-feathered, so the roosters don't have male specific saddle feathering.
