So my first batch of chickens I ended up with 5 (possibly 6) out of 9 cockerels which were all bought labeled as sexed pullets. Rookie mistake thanks TSC. We have a friend that will use them for dinner so I passed them on and bought a dozen more to replace them.

I integrated the littler ones into the coop using a wire dog kennel once fully feathered and all worked great. They’ve been together in the run for 12+ hrs a day for a week now successfully, doing the whole pecking order thing, but all of the sudden our EE has decided to start charging the littles from across the run. I posted when the EE was around 6 weeks and also when it was around 2 months and everyone thought it was a pullet. Would it charge the littles and try to hold them down if that was the case? I thought that was more of a move for a cockerel.

Lastly, I bought these labeled as Golden Comets but all the pictures I’m finding I haven’t run across any with the grey head/neck. It’s getting greyer the bigger they get. I don’t really care what they are.. they’re SO pretty.. but I’m just curious on what everyone’s opinions are of their breed.

Wow, they really are gorgeous!! I'd love to have some of those in my flock. Can you post a picture of two of their combs? It will help identify the breed :)

Thanks! They’re so interesting, very calm too. They don’t have much for combs as of now.

Well they certainly were a lucky mistake then! Hard to tell since their isn't much of a comb but I do agree with A.M Eggs, they most likely are EEs. Pea combs take quite awhile to develop, especially in the hens. It also looks like they have little beards as well. Enjoy them! :love
