I bought my chicks from an IFA Country Store in March. They are around 20 weeks old now. My chicken that was labeled a Golden Comet is laying blue/green eggs. The inside of the eggs, under the membrane are blue too. Her earlobes are white as well. When I google it says Golden Comets are supposed to lay brown eggs.

Thoughts?

IFA is a coop, so they may source their chicks from local breeders. I would suspect that a rouge rooster snuck into Golden comet henhouse, and did his deed. He may be carrying the blue egg gene.

Those are true blue eggs if also same color on inside. Blue,, blue-green,,, shades may vary when chicken is from mixed ancestors.

Beautiful eggs.:thumbsup
