I am getting three gals, all 17 weeks old tomorrow. This is my first time keeping chickens. What do I need to know about the breed?

Not sure, but I have two, and they are my best layers, dark eggs, large, not friendly, but good gals................

Mine are friendly, talkative and active. Two are skittish and though they'll come up to me begging for a treat, if I try to pick them up they run.

Good layers, out of 6 hens 4-6 eggs a day, usually 6.

Love mine! Very good layers of large dark brown eggs and mine are friendly too. I can't count how many times I've stepped on the poor things because they are always under foot when I'm out in the barnyard.

I had 5 hens last year and they were great. Calm, friendly, and great layers. Daughter's dog put an end to that on a visit after wedgeing himself under the manual garage door I have on the barn and forcing it up! Dog weighs about 25lbs!!

good layers of brown eggs, sex link buff color pullets, yellow chicks males... cross of white rock hens and NH or RIR roosters.
