The bird in your picture does not appear to be a Wyandotte.I just had the same thing happen to me. I told my wife she was CRAZY because she told me she watched ours lay a blue egg. I told her that Wyandottes don't lay blue/green eggs, but the Ameraucanas would. Well, I stand corrected because I just watched Bluey lay one today! She's similar in pattern with the black scarf and gold scales and the back half is almost straight blue behind her wings. Her tail and short wing feathers are blue. Her 2 sisters have traditional markings. She has laid us 13 so far!
Perhaps she has ancestors who are.
The original post is from several years ago, though. You may not get answers there.
