I have a beautiful Golden laced Wyandotte named chickpea she is 5 months old I’ve noticed her gorgeous green shimmer faintly coming in on her feathers do Golden laced Wyandotte’s get more vivid shimmer as they mature and get older or will it stay as it is now

She's a pretty girl. It's hard to say...I always have a couple of Gold Laced Wyandottes around and I don't usually notice much dark green or shimmer to their black. Am I seeing some lighter color mixed in as well as the gold? Wondering if she has something else mixed in there, which might account for the shimmer.

Thank you so much I tell her that every day 🥰 and we were not sure about her breed for she she looks full breed Wyandotte but when we got her from a lady at a nearby farm she said she was an amaricauna / unknown mother but she’s my beautiful little girl

It will be egg citing to see the color of her eggs 🥚

Absolutely we’re anxiously waiting 🥰 but for now I'm collecting her beautiful fallen feathers and plan to make jewelry out of them natural chicken feathers for the win 😁

She is beautiful! And she may be "all" GL Wyandotte...I just don't notice a green sheen on mine or lighter beige/gold feathers...doesn't really matter though. I haven't had GL Wyandottes for a while but one of my young ones just started laying three days ago...first it was a sort of dirty cream LOL, then an uneven beige, and today's is a beautiful pale peachy brown. 🥰 It's always eggciting to wait for those first eggs.

I agree I can’t wait to see what color her eggs turn out. 😊

She is very pretty! My GLW definitely got more of the green sheen as she got older, but she seems a bit smaller framed to be 5 months old? Maybe she is a mix and smaller from the mix? This is my Charlie at 5 months and she just seems bigger boned 😆
