I got 6 two day old Roos (I think) they were supposedly sexed at the poultry supplier. They were packing peanuts. They were born 2-4-14 I'll get pics up soon. I have 12 SLW eggs on order for April. I love this breed. Has anyone crossed the SLW with a GLW? If so any pics? I'm hoping a get a female out of these six chicks but if not I'll be happy! Pics coming soon!!

I have breed slw to glw and, you can get the following: slw rooster*glw hen will give slw hens and mixed roosters. I'm not sure if it works the opposite way like with glw rooster and slw hen.

This is exactly right. Roosters will be silver with brassy shoulders or just general gold bleeding in the feathers. Females will always be either gold or silver never mixed.

SLW (S/S) roo over GLW (s/) hen - mixed roo(S/s) and silver (S/) hens
GLW (s/s) roo over SLW (S/) hen - mixed roo (S/s) and gold (s/) hens

Mixed GLW and SLW roo over either color hen will give both color hens and mixed roo or roo colored as hen
example mix (S/s) roo over SLW (S/) hen ----both silver (S/) and gold (s/) hens, mixed roo (S/s) and silver (S/S) roos if using a gold (s/) hen possible gold (s/s) roo
