Golden pheasant

I would like to keep a few golden pheasant. Well i think i would like to.

I have few questions to ask first.

The first being am i crazy to think i can have a outdoor aviary with a access door into my homes basement for protection from the elements.

Practically i can make it happen i am a home builder. The question is do i want to. Will it smell to high heaven or will the noise drive me nuts?

How much space would three birds require.

What kind of health care do they require.

I have dogs one with major allergies so i understand just how much maintenance a animal or pet can become at any time.

Fyi,

I live on a 5600 sq ft lot in a small bungalow in a thickly settled neighborhood.

The local ordinance allows chickens but not rooster. The pen has to be something like 50 ft from my house and 20ft from my property line. I also have to get a annual $50 license

In my case this is impossible. My plan is to just ignore these minor details

I have two rescue pit bulls and neither are registered. I did not register on purpose and in. 7 years i have had no problems.

How about the noise. The neighborhood is already full of birds and plenty of bird noise probably due to my obsessive gardening and tree collecting habit.

I had to listen to the calls they make and do not think they are noisy at all.

I do think neighbors may get jealous of the beautiful birds and call you in. I would be concerned about the ordinances myself.
Really in all seriousness it would be a shame to get the set up built and have the birds then have to tear it down and get rid of the birds.
Just my opinion on the matter.
