Are yours on day 21 or later? I got this egg sent with a bunch of cochins from a friend of mine...she had beautiful golden phoenix so she threw in an egg for me from her phoenix and they are caged in breeding cages so she is sure it's pure. Are yours bantam?

Bantam Phoenix is pretty small and lays small eggs. They hatch around 19-20 days. Never had one hatch later than 20 days and I didn't put the temp high either. Thats how its suppose to be : )

Kristin, Please post a pic of your chicks, I would love to see them even if they aren't newly hatched, I have never see one before.

We have a Silver Phoenix hen and she is a banty. We love her, when we have visitors she is everyone's favorite. She prefers to keep to herself but does get along with the other chickens. She is very friendly, has a lot of personality, is smart and cute.

We got rid of the golden phoenix's because the rooster kept trying to spur my two year old's eyes out, unprovoked. He was her chicken and she held him everyday for over a year and then bam, he just turned on her. I sold them off in trios and now they are gone.
