Golden Polish From MM are dying

We ordered almost 200 chicks from mcmurray They arrived on Monday after sitting in Cedar rapids post office since Early Saturday morning. The Buff Orpingtons, White Orpingtons, Golden laced Cochins, Black Australorps are all fine we have not lost a single chick. Out of the 29 Golden Polish Chicks we received we have already lost all but 2 and they don't look good. We removed them from the brooders they where in with the rest of the chicks and have them in the house on Wednesday and still lost more. With only two left now a cockrel and a pullet We are livid! When we talked to mcmurray monday they assured us if any where lost they would reship. When we called Tuesday to say we had already lost 5 of the polish they said they wouldn't reship and made it sound like it was our fault! By Wednesday we where so upset! I know we should of called again but after the way they had acted on Tuesday we just didn't feel like being told we where the ones killing these chicks again!
These chicks where in two brooders that are 5' long by 3' wide each. They have two heat lamps two waterers, two feeders in each brooder. There is both quick chick and sugar mixed into the water as the hatchery suggested. Sorry to vent but come Monday morning Mcmurray will be getting a phone call from us and they had better reship the whole group of Polish or send us a refund so we can order them from another hatchery.

Man I am soo sorry you are having to deal with this... I would call MM back monday and just immediatly ask to speak to a manager that way their staff doesnt have time to try to say you are just trying to get your money back.. I hope they make good on their end...

Sorry to hear of your loss - We've ordered 10 Gold Laced Polish from them before and lost every single one before they even reached 1 week old.

I was talking to a friend of mine last night she was asking if I had any polish seems her dad ordered 150 polish from Ideal and all but 2 died shes asked for a refund. maybe its a bad year for polish my daughter has lost 10 baby chicks so far this past 2 months and they were from locals that hatched them.I think I would think twice about ordering them from Ideal

We called and complained and they are reshipping the whole order. again they will be hatched on friday and wont arrive till monday! I will not be ordering from Mcmurray again. I expect to get day old, or two day old chicks not Four day old chicks! Welp hatches them tuesday morning sends them out tuesday and they arrive wednesday! A much better system I think.

Thats very unusual ive always had the best luck from mcmurray thats the only hatchery i order from because of their great history.

I have always liked ordering from them because of there wide range of breeds and because so many are sexed. It was one of the few places we found Golden polish that sexed them. Most it was just str8 run. I just don't like that the chicks are hatched friday, shipped saturday and unless you live in a major city or very close to one. They don't get to you till Monday. Thats four days those chicks are without food and water. We drove to cedar rapids today to pick up the order of chicks. They arrived in Cedar rapids about a hour after the mail truck to Monticello left. All alive and healthy we will see what happens in a couple days though.
