Are golden sebrights supposed to have barred golden and black feathers? I have put up a topic and you all said that it was a golden sebright. Well now it is sprouting eathers that look barred. What do you think it is?

a pic would be nice to be sure, but it sounds like maybe a gold cuckoo marans.

Heres your pic!

Posted as soon as you put up the picture haha.

It does seem to be a Sebright. All I can think of is that it's just the way the new feathers look, and it's possible because of the quality of the bird. The feathers just seems awfully 'smutty' to me.

Sorry about the quality of the pic. It looked okay from the camera.

Thanks for your imput.

Looks like a golden Sebright to me. I have a 2 week old in the brooder right now, but the feather pattern is different. I agree with Year of the Rooster, it could be the way the new feathers look, or just poor quality coloring. I would give it time though

you never know how they will look when fully feathered. Besides the feather pattern she looks just like mine.
Look on the bright side! If she stays barred, you may have the first ever barred gold Sebright!

Yes it does look like a golden sebright. Thanks for the pic! He\\she is so cute.
