Sorry for not updating in so long. I have been busy.

Chicks are all well and developing beautifully. Now I can tell the three chipmunks apart easily. They are each so different.

@Chickengirl2671 ‘s chick (unnamed. feel free to tell me a name for her whenever you’re ready!)

@Dr Evy ’s chick (unnamed. feel free to tell me a name for him whenever you’re ready!)

@Fuchsia ‘s chick (unnamed. feel free to tell me a name for her whenever you’re ready!)

Pink! Yours has feathered feet!
(the other two chipmunks don’t.)

@PippinTheChicken ’s Murdoc

(he’s the only one with feathered feet out of the two black ones)

(he’s got some orange feathers on his back!)

@Obsessed With Silkies ’ chick (unnamed. feel free to tell me a name for her whenever you’re ready!)

(she’s got ear muffs. both blacks have ear muffs which means the cochin X EEs are the likely mothers/fathers of both)

She’s the absolute cutest little dummy.

All I got this evening.
Not the prettiest setting but still got some adorable pics.

I love how Vannya is resting her head on Goldie’s back.

Today was scary.




I got home from work and was on my way inside and saw a HAWK swoop down and GRAB one of the little chicks. The chickens all ran toward the coop, but the chick wasn't quick enough. I saw that it was lighter so I knew it was one of the chipmunks.
I started screaming as soon as I saw the hawk.

He grabbed the chick and flew for about 5 seconds (across the whole yard!) before I started screaming even more and waving my arms around. I heard the poor chipmunk chirping as the claws of the hawk held onto the chick. I screamed on the top of my lungs just before the hawk got out of my view with the chick....


and....


HE DROPPED THE CHICK. Thank the LORD. I was so happy. I ran to the chickens and quickly threw food in the run so they would all go back in to be safe from the hawk.

The poor chipmunk has a bloody eye from the hawks claw. It's blind in one eye from what I can tell.... otherwise... a little scared but alive.

The poor little thing. Hopefully the eye heals up and she’ll still be able to see.
