Goldilocks cannot walk~ shes 17/!Update. She's gone to Heaven.

Thankyou, She is definately worth a vet visit as she has lived longer than my beautiful cattle dog and 2 cats!plus she has managed to escape 2 fox attacks on the coop.
Weve had 2 fox strikes in 17 years when they came unexpectantly off season. They usually only come here into town when they have young cubs and stay away for the rest of the year. However I dont take any chances now and lock them in securely every night.

Well, dear little Goldie hasnt improved at all i hate to say.
I have her inside tonite in her basket with a blanket underneath for padding and comfort.
Her feet are really cold however she must be warm as she is quite close to the heater. I have just warmed a heat pad to put in there with her.
She is sooo lovely, she doesnt even smell like some chooks do when they are inside (in hospital).
I had her outside today with her friends basking in the sun, i also flipped her so she leant on the other side.
Her mates just hung around checking in on her while she chatted away!!
I dont know where to go from here.

Its weird that she has so much strength in her legs, feet and wings, she fights against being handled with real strength., however she just cannot stand up.

Im really not convinced on the vets diagnosis at all and i really need another opinion from another vet.

Did the vet do any bloodwork on her or did he just look her over? It's a good sign that she is still so feisty, though, right? I hope she feels better soon.

No they dont do that over here unfortunately, they dont even do necropsis either unless you shop around.
We dont get nasty diseases here so its uncommon to do detailed tests on poultry.

Shes still fighting on, eating and drinking.
Dear little girl.
Thanks.
