tell me the exact name of ur city....or at least how far you are from me....im in martinsburg, wv......if ur not to far i will talk to the boyfriend and see what he thinks (hes got the money lol) and i may be able to come and get the paint...also the picture of her papers doesnt work....hmmm....ill see if i can find her on allbreedpedigree.com .... anyway worse comes to worse as long as shes healthy and stuff i can take her to my place until you or i can find another home for her

Sorry, not "message board stalking" you or anything, but I have been following this thread on & off... horses are my fist love, barrel raced & trail rode my lil' buckskin mare "Minnie" for years, had to put her down about 2 yrs ago, still miss her terribly.

Was wondering how it's going with your two mares, also wanted to tell you that something that worked for ME was I boarded her at a really great stable, near Elizabeth PA (only 2 acres here, plus zoning laws, can't have horses), with some PHENOMINAL people who I still consider friends, that are comitted to quality care, yet know that most of us don't make a billion dollars a year, and really try to keep the prices FAIR... are truly "in it" for love, not money.

That having been said, I know that this still may not be an option for everyone for various reasons ($, location, etc.). Something I did that really worked out great (allowed me to maintain ownership and control, gave Minnie extra attention & excercise, and helped A LOT with expenses), was that I "leased" Minnie to others who were interested in access to a horse/riding, but did not want to commit to horse ownership.

A lease can be whatever you want/need it to be, you make up the terms. In my case, I asked for 1/2 of her board, plus routine farrier expenses, while I picked up the other 1/2 of her board, plus veterinary expenses. In return, they had free access to Minnie on Sundays thru Thursdays (I had Fridays & Saturdays off at the time), to trail ride, arena ride, lessons & loveys... whatever!! Worked out REALLY WELL while I was pregnant and/or working a lot with not enough time for Minnie.

I found the people that I wanted to lease to through the stable, but Craigs List would have been a good option, too.

I know that this may not be a workable option for you, or you may have found a solution already, but I just thought I'd mention it. Feel free to PM me if you need any more details, and/or I could check with the stable I was at to see if they have room available, current board rates, etc.!
