Sorry, got here late. I use puppy training pads for the first month or so with baby ducklings. They love to splash in their water.

why only 1 mallard? that duckling is going to be so tiny next to it's BIG brothers and Sisters. lol, and please get them ducklings off that slick newspaper, or your going to be dealing with some serious leg issues. even shredded news paper is better than just plain ole newspaper.. Congrats on your ducklings they are precious.

well no one answeared me can they go on aspen! i was ganna get all pekin but the mallard was a runt so i had to!

Why do they need to go on aspen? Pine shavings are inexpensive and available at every feed store.

I dont know about aspen, but you can just rip up the newspaper.

I have used pine shavings with my adult ducks for over two years with no apparent problems. As ducklings, they did indeed eat some of it, so I kept them on towels.
