Gonna have puppies

so sorry I brought up the white boxer - did not want to cause problems

I have had the pleasure of fostering 2 white boxers both were perfectly healthy and had perfect hearing and eye sight - they are wonderful dogs ( they do tend to have issues in the sun and can get alittle sunburned around the eyes and nose )

I am glad someone else did some studying on the breed - I loved reading that post I knew most of the info but loved reading it anyway

any news yet on the pups ?

I can always tell when Abbey is close she goes around the house gathering " her babies " AKA the remote control - the cell phones - the house phone and even grabbed a baseball once LOL she than puts them in her " nest" and waits for her real babies to be born

I think her original post on the 16th said that she was 5 days from her whelp date .. so we may have a couple more days ..

It almost looks like AmStaffs and boxers have some of the same ancestors. That white bulldogish critter with the longer nose looked familiar.

RagTyme, I'm sorry you felt the need to defend yourself, it was truly unnecessary. Good luck with your pups, my bet is 7 pups!

We have two mutts-one rescued that was dumped in the country and one adopted from a reasonable shelter on the day she was to be put down. If I wanted a purebred (and might in the future, but we are very content with our mixes) I would first look at shelters and secondly look at responsible BYB. I'd much rather my pet come from two happy & healthy, well-adjusted family pets than a 'responsible show breeder' who has 40 dogs in outdoor runs that don't get any affection each day. Sure, the ones in the kennels might be tested for everything under the sun, but how much does that person truly know about the dogs temperament in a family situation?

I know some such breeders are very conscientious, but my preference would be from someone who was actively interacting with the parents daily as a family member... not a 'breeder' dog. I'm not condoning the BYB who spread unhealthy traits; but not every 'pet' needs to be show quality. A color DQ doesn't change an animal making a wonderful pet, for example!

She is not officially due until Tues. No changes yet so we are still keeping a close eye on her. She has reclaimed her space on hubby's couch and is faithfully keeping it warm.

I absolutely love boxers. We did breed our male to my dad's female 2 yrs ago and when we did the first ultrasound...it was 8 pups. Her body absorbed 2 of them and when she delivered, the first one was still born. We had to then bring her to our vet for a c-section. The next pup was stillborn as well. (that was very rough) She did have 4 big, healthy pups. 3 white, 1 reverse brindle. We kept the biggest male pup. (was almost 2 lbs when born) Anyway, he is now 85 lbs. LOL

Sorry for the story. Good luck with a healthy and easy delivery!! My guess is 6
