We will be keeping at least one and the stud owner will be taking 2nd pick. The others will bring joy to their new families, a few will even be sharing their new families with previous puppies of mine.

My mom shows boxers (or I should say used to, she hasn't shown lately)and I grew up with boxers. I now have dobermans, but still visit with my moms and my brothers...oh yeah and my cousins, my Aunts and a few friends! Boxers are fun! Especially the puppies! Naughty little dogs!

Rag Tyme: this is a sensitive issue for me because everyone whalloped on me for the accidental breeding of our Chocolate Lab (ironically, she was bred by another Chocolate Lab! - purebred "mistake") Lots of people told me to take her to the vet and abort those puppies because they weren't planned... they weren't selectively bred etc. -- and they also reminded me that there are so many unwanted dogs in the pound, and I shouldn't be contributing to the problem.
I am one of the folks that looks at my next dog this way: will it be a great member of the family... any mental or health issues? - sometimes you can find the perfect dog in the pound - and the dog was put there by no fault of his own... some dogs, like people, are born with issues... I have had both purebred dogs purchased from a breeder (because I wanted something SPECIFIC) and I've had wonderful "death row rescues" because they fit into our family situation perfectly.
I'd personally buy a dog from a small time breeder because they're not MAKING A LIVING AT IT.
P.S. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE PUPPY PICS!!! PLEASE DON'T HOLD OUT ON US!!!

I suppose her issue is we see things differently. I am not a conformist that bows to the views of others. I tend to look at all the sides, gather all the facts, and form my own opinions..LOL

I am also a supporter of Rescues and have on more than one occasion felt someone would be better off with an older rescue or pound dog than a puppy and have told them such. So I do see where you are coming from.

I do not feel you have stuck your nose where it did not belong. You have stated your opinion in a civil and adult manner.

I have noticed on here its ok to breed all the birds I want but not dogs? I have a thread for Beagles(please take one!)and got the same crappy opinions on what I should do for my dogs.I ignored it then but now? I kept my dogs seperate but as anyone with a dog knows this is a very hard task. He got loose while I was away and female was in heat and --. What am I supposed to do?Would these few people rather i put them in a gunny sack and sent them swimming and kept my thread off here? I am glad we live in a free country where we can all express our opinions because of wonderful men and women who died for that right but what is done is done. No i did not get my dogs checked for health issues before the accidental breeding. Of course I didnt take my wife in either before our kids but luck was on our side. I know 3 to 4 million dogs are euthanized every year as i watch "price is right" also. I think what we want is some help from people looking for a pet, not rude criticism. I realize some "speak for the dogs and that is fine but we need people who "act for the dogs". Everyone has a right to an opinion but remember opinions are like butts everyone has one and most stink!!!! Sorry if I upset someone but this is my stiny opinion.. By the way I bet she has 10 beautiful pups!!! Brad Young

I'm sorry, after a lifetime of adopted dogs, handling dogs from a BYB who spent their lives unhandled, and then working in a spay and neuter clinic and watching puppies not even old enough to be out of the womb getting euthanized, the issue of responsible breeding is very close to my heart.

Do I have to explain myself to others, No, but I do. Why? Because it is important that people learn not every breeder is bad and out there pumping out sick and suffering puppies.

Yes, I bred my dogs, but every litter is bred with a purpose and a goal in mind. My retired females are spayed and stay here for the remainder of their life unlike alot of breeders whom "place" non-breedable grump so there will be room for a breedable one.

I understand your passion and where it stems from, so please try and understand my passion to produce puppies that will not cause their families the suffering that I have been through.
