Good age for purchase?

I'm looking into buying a Old English Game Bantam hen as a pet. The woman selling them has babies ranging in age from 2 weeks to 3 months. What age is old enough to no longer need a heat lamp, but also young enough to still bond with? Thanks!

depending how hot is where you live but most of the time around 5 to 6 weeks don't need the heat lamp any more.
