Good article about Ducks helping in the garden

Ducks are great in the garden, as long as I realize what their habits are, and manage accordingly. Mature perennials are fine, a brief visit among the half-grown cabbage is okay, and just a walk around the periphery of the lettuce works.

I like them near when I am weeding, they like to nom on the chickweed and dandelion, and I hold Japanese beetles for them to eat, I grab slugs in a leaf and toss those over the fence, too. But it is not often I find a slug nowadays, thanks to the ducks.

My snail/slug/Japanese beetle issues disappeared soon after I started having ducks own me. I do, however, keep my lettuce patch fenced since lettuce is their treat of choice!

Oh I know we were once over run with grass hoppers too but not anymore, them ducks are worth their weight in gold.
