Good brooder box?

That's amazing. Right now mine can only fly a few inches to a foot high. Your chicks really do that?

You could put tape plastic on the bottom and on the lower sides of the box. We just scoop out the shavings and put new ones. Chicks will definitely jump out of that so I'd advise putting something over the top so they can't jump out.
Happy chick raising!;)

They don't know they can do it until they try, but when that happens, they'll all want to join in. I watched one of mine flying up and failing to land on the brooder roof a few times, but once she made it, suddenly all the chicks wanted to try it too. By the next day 3 out of 4 were flying up to the roof, jumping off, up again, off.

I read all of the replies, and as they get older, I will put on a cover with a hole covered with chicken wire. Or I will give them away like I normally do. I hatch eggs and then sell or give the chicks to my neighbors who have chickens.
