Good day. New member in N. Central FL

Hi, I'm Ari, it's nice to be here. I currently have no chickens, but I will be keeping them in the future for eggs, manure, and their impeccable scratching and pecking skills in old garden beds. I plan to keep Australorps and Marans, because I think they are very beautiful birdies.
I agree and beautiful bird. My hen (black Australorp) Aretha is my friendliest and has a gorgeous green sheen.

:frow Greetings and welcome! from SE MO! Australorps are a lovely breed and well suited to the task you have set before them. I am expecting my first Marans (Maranses???) at the end of April and can't wait to add them to my flock! A word to the wise from the experienced: build your coop bigger than you think you need, because ... chicken math! Easter Eggers are a lovely breed too and it's so fun to amaze your friends with their green or blue eggs. Enjoy the adventure!
