I posted this in the duck section then I found this section... please help!
Okay, I have been designing a duck pen for my pair of mandarins and woods ducks (2 pair total) and I got a lot of the idea from Scott and his pen, but I wanted to show you guys these pictures so you can critique what you think might need to be changed:
Okay so here is the explanation:
the dimensions are like 5 feet by 7 or 8 feet
Red parts: are the nesting boxes... I have three on there in case they are dumping the eggs I can close one off
Brown parts: are planters where I plan on planting some kind of ivy that is not dangerous to them to begin covering everywhere
Orange parts: This is the area where they sleep and where I will keep the food and have nice wood chips for padding.
Blue part: This is a built in tub that will have a drain on the bottom to make it easy to clean.. also I will have a water dish up close by the entrance to where they sleep but still outside
where they wont make too much of a mess
Green Part: These are the ramps to the nesting boxes as well as down to the water... I will make them wider then they appear on here.
White part: This is everything else... the main floor and structure.
The Floor will be chicken wire as well to cut down on any mess
All the open areas will be covered by chicken wire so they cant escape, and I will make it look more "woody" and obviously not the colors shown on here
I know the dimensions might need tweaking but I am interested in the overall opinion of how everything looks on here and if there are any red flags anyone sees
