Good eggs sink, reliable??

I just found a cache of eggs under my coop. I've noticed in the past week that the girls were laying less, I attributed it to the shorter days. Well, now I know where all the eggs were. I seem to remember an old fact, that a good egg will sink in water, where as a rotten egg will float. All my eggs sunk like stones. Should I trust them? I plan on hard boiling them anyway...

Yup. Warm water, good eggs sink, so-so eggs sit up but stay on the bottom, and bad eggs float. (The older an egg, the larger the air cell in it.)
