Good for housing goats?

Disbudding isn't always good either. My male was disbudded but he grew horns anyways. They grew wonky and one curved back a bit to much. As he was getting closer to adulthood it was obvious it would soon be going against his skull.
I was researching about dehorning him at that age and if it was possible.
Then one day he somehow escaped and my neighbor stopped to tell me he just hit my goat out front with his old pick up. Said goat went cartwheeling into the field across the road. He was sure he was dead.
He was upset with himself and I was telling him my goat, my bad, not to worry etc when the goat walked up to us in the driveway.
Didn't even phase that goat except it took that one horn off right at the skull and it was clean not bleeding or anything. That ended up being a good thing but ya goats are a pita. I had Nigerian Dwarfs
"Had" being the operative word?..

Indeed. They're fun in the spring when they have kids but the other about 9 months of the year they're just a hassle.
I had enough and then focused on kunekune pigs. Pigs are easy keepers and piglets are just too cute.

Agreed and thank you. I am known as the goat hater around here, but I'm just statin' facts.

Do you breed or eat the kunekune? I had a pet pig growing up and don't think I could raise pigs for meat. She was like the family dog.

I raised them for several years but don't have any anymore. Never ate one just sold piglets. They're supposed to be really tasty though.

I don't have experience with pigs, but I do know what's ten times better than goats - Katahdin Sheep.
Googling! My heart is set on goats for milk and cheese in the future but my friend breeds Dorper Sheep and everyone tells me sheep are easier than goats. They won't clear brush for me, though...

Katahdins do eat leaves from bushes and trees. My Katahdins loved browsing with the goats.

Thought I'd update.. I found another much larger enclosure on my property that had 6ft fencing with 2×4 openings. I examined it all the way around and added 8ft t posts where I felt the cemented-in wood posts were weakening. I also found a nice 3 sided shelter in the enclosure that I fixed up. Added a separate covered section that could be blocked off so I could feed a LGD in peace and also eventually milk.

I ended up adopting 2 Nigerian Dwarf does that needed a home when the owner had to move away. I'm 75% sure the horned one is pregnant so that's fun (and scary). Didn't know until I went to pick them up and she informed me they had been living with a buck all year (the polled one's son).

Looks awesome! I have to admit I'm a bit jealous of that fantastic pasture with the high fencing!
