I have chickens and ducks now I would like to get 2 turkeys. I cannot order them where i got my chicks from because of the min order no way am i order 15 of anything LOL. and my tractor supplies just dont have turkeys,

where did you get your turkeys from I need a hatchery that allows small orders. My local hatchery is out of the question and so is craigslist since it is the only place offering turkeys for sale around here.

Try posting a wanted ad on craigslist. Also look for bird swaps and chick days.

I don't know if your farm store would do it but some will do a minimum order you take what you
Need and they will try to sell the rest.

If you like to incubate could find eggs and have them shipped. But not having any luck with shipped eggs. Recieved or sent this year.

I love bird swaps but with the avian flu virus going around I think I will not do those this year and keep my flock closed.

Good luck.

Ok i found a local farmer that is selling turkey eggs to hatch.. however i never hatched an egg before is their an incubator that is best for turkey eggs? I am on a budget want something good but cant spend a large sum.. thanks

I don't have one but farm stores carry farm innovation and little giants. Some have good luck with those just be very mindful of the temp. Have tendency to need adjusting from factory.

I have brinsea octagon 20. 1588 genesis. And reptipro 6000. All will work best hatches out of octagon 20.

This year so far my eggs have developed well to day 20 then seem to die late. Not sure of issues.

If you want to make your ownn incubator check out rush lane poultry videos on youtube. They take you step by step on how build and wire up a incubator out of a cooler.

No matter what bator uou decide on there is tons of info on here about almost any type.

What type of eggs does the farmer have?

Best of luck.

He has Blue Slate, Royal Palm, and Pencilled Palm. I know one has to be a royal so beautiful I want one to keep for sure lol the blue slate looks like a beauty as well. I never heard of the other one go I going to have to research more.

Thanks for all ur advice it's so appriciated

I have slates and royal palm. As well both pretty birds.

If you want to look at a lot of heritage breeds. Look up porters heritage turkeys online.

Oh that is pretty. I guess turkey eggs will be my first eggs I will hatch. I saw at tractor supply they had an incubator has anyone any recommendations on it. there are so many incubators on amazon makes ur head spin.

The best incubator depends on your budget and your goals.

If you will only have a few birds, buy the BEST small incubator you can. Brinsea Mini comes to mind.

If you will be hatching lots of common eggs from your home flock, the foam incubators are...economical. Unless you have the time to be a surrogate mother hen, success will not be outstanding.

Binsea Mini Advance and Octo 20 (with optional turner and humidity pump) are both great and completely automated.
