the girls have started to actually lay eggs! and are they delicious!!
we are averaging 3 per day form the 5 hens, though i think someone sneaks off somewhere to hide them from me instead of using the boxes I so politely provided!
Boy howdy does the wooden egg make a big difference in keeping them laying in the boxes! I just bought the 99cent ones from the craft store, they may be white, but the girls don't mind.
We have one who lays a larger egg, and so far all of those have been double yolks!
While I know they are not chickens, I just brought 5 baby ducklings into the household, as the girls are good on flies, but not so much the snails.
Having fun with my peeps! and the family and friends like the eggs too.
