My name is Janet and I am finally returning to raising chickens in my backyard. My adventure with chickens began when my son was in 4th grade and decided on chickens for a 4-H project (he is now 25). We started with 3 hens and it was I that became hooked. I expanded my collection and built a new coop for the girls. When I relocated from Georgia back home to Tennessee I couldn’t take them with me and have been without for 4 years. Now my son (yep, same one) and I are building a Woods open air coop and will have 10 chicks coming this spring. I am so excited to have chickens back in my life!
I also have 2 dogs and 3 cats that entertain me daily.

I’m getting a wide mix. Red star, Ameracauna, several Wyandottes, Speckled Sussex, and a Buff Orpington. They will all have old fashion names.
