Good New and Bad News- Those poor ducklings :(

I'm speechless, hun...I don't know. You could try to take them to the vet to save them, or at least see what's wrong, but it's not a guarantee and...man, I just don't know! Ugh! I am SO ANGRY at efowl right now! How could they be so heartless? Only offer credit or a replacement? Do they care nothing for this suffering?

Sorry, sorry, it's just, I'd be raising H-E-double hockey sticks with customer support over this. I'm a mama bear, I can't help it. I'd keep screaming my way up the ladder until I finally reached someone that gave a hoot!

The problem is that this company really seems to not give a hoot. They claim, and are probably right, that they lived up to their written and posted terms and conditions and guarantees. They claim that they have "relationships" with hatcheries and farms around the country to assure that your order comes from the closest possible so that this sort of thing is minimized. Yet they go ahead and ship a small order of ducks knowing what the weather patterns are and will be for a while across the nation. They are not the only ones with these terms, conditions and guarantees...most hatcheries have them. However, the customer service side of things is where hatcheries are differentiated. I have had customer service reps that almost broke into tears when they heard that even one chick died and not only did a reship of that one chick (along with enough others that they would survive...and not all males either) but also did a full credit to my account for the future. That hatchery has my business even today. This place that is at issue here has demonstrated that they have no interest post-shipment in anything even close to a good business model much less anything resembling a humanitarian nature.

I hate to say it, but I fear JTN is right...I still don't understand how they could have allowed this to happen! Who delays the shipment of day-old ducklings in the middle of a storm without any heat packs? It just baffles me! I had efowl's blue calls on my bookmarks list, but not anymore!

Are any of the ducklings still alive? Terribly sorry for your loss :(
Some are still living but they are dying one by one. This is so heart breaking. If enough people who have ordered form them would report them [is there a place where you can report stuff like this?} Maybe all the negativity would shut them down.

We see this every year sad to say.

Every year from efowl specifically, or just mail order bird sellers in general? And I agree, it would be very nice if we could gather our horror stories through the website and make sure every consumer rating site, business ranking site and customer service feedback number are inundated! I call it Operation: Avenge the Babies.

I'm not sure if it's just efowl probably other hatcheries. seems there should be a shipment date after the worst of winter is over and before the hot days of summer. It's all poultry I've even seen where people received chicks in Feb and all were dead or dieing. This hatchery and probably others jump the gun start hatching too soon and don't take into consideration what the weather will be like all over the country. I would much rather buy from a reputable breeder or go to a place like Rurual King where Op got the first ducklings they looked very healthy. put these people out of business who don't give a hoot about life.

Yes, its very sad. I liked (likeD, past tense) efowl.com I ordered from them before, 5 cayugas. No extra ones came with that order and everything was exactly how ordered. That was back in 2011.

Love the name! And yes you can rate out of 5 stars the specific breeds you got and tell them how it went. I will complain and make a bad 1 star review on both the breeds and tell the people what happened, but not a lot of ppl seem to read the reviews.
