Good old Call Duck thread

Kind of nerve wracking isn't it. :hugs
It's fun and exciting too though.:) It's just really hard to make a decision not knowing for sure if it's the right one. They like to take their sweet time too.
:gig
I chose the right subtitle for this thread:
"Adventures in Anxiety"
Ultimately, I err to the side of safety. Give one the option, but don't force it. Hold off on the other two until I feel it's safe enough, let the others progress naturally and see what happens.

I know one thing for certain:
No more call ducks after this. Adorable and small little dudes, but I think I'll just find a peking duck for my niece to raise in the future...

Awh. . come on :lau
It's not that bad. :)
Plus you can always let them brood their own and leave it to the mammas to do their thing. They are good mamas usually. :jumpy

Pekins are so normal and boring

Fair points all. But certainly I'm not going for show quality calls in the future.

Mine aren't show quality by any means. But they is adorable.

Their adorbs factor was certainly at play.
1am update though. Lots of chewing motions still observed (opening and shutting of mouths) with the occasional yawn. I suspect I opened the eggs too soon. But since there doesn't seem to be much bleeding and the veins are receeding slowly from the front to the back, things are still progressing with them. I feel confident in letting them continue as they are until morning.
I'm feeling somewhat optimistic, but I'm keeping my hopes guarded. I will say I expect I'll see at least 2 white adults by the time this is over as I've rarely seen a yellow duck chick not grow up to be white colored. They aren't fussing to get out and even with the membrane drawn back on one, he doesn't seem to be terribly motivated to get out of the egg.
So it'll either be good news come morning or me chastising myself for intervening.

I bet they will be fine! I would be more worried about the ones that aren't open personally. . but hopefully they will bust out on their own.
Good luck! :fl

I worry about them too. But They have safety holes in them and are not as pressed for release as the ones I opened are. Thanks for the well wishes! Will update in the morning!

Alright so I woke up this morning to a half out of the shell chick (But still some Active veins so he can just sit tight) and a few externally pipped eggs. So that's progress all around.
