Good Ole Boy's Of "KANSAS"

I wanna go fishing! Hate busy days... Morning chores done, brother-in-laws game in Hiawatha at 12:00, then off to Onaga to puck up some eggs for the incubator and a few hens for the in-laws layer pen, then back here to finish a grow out pen for the older chicks, and then hopefully get my boys roller coop past just a mock up!

So today I am feeling like I am smarter than a racoon. I do really hate killing coons I really do. But its a very good year when they dont eat lots of my chickens. They are now digging out the rabbit chow in the rabbit cage and eating it at night. Well thats all I have to report, hope to let the girls out tomorrow after noon. Dont get home until late so dont want the buggers working my chickens before I get home.
Kansas Boy I need to give you some of my eggs to hatch. Dont need more chickens my self but would love to know how the Welsumer works on RIR, Golden Queens, and Americana. Just let me know if you want more for the in-laws. I am sure I will get another broody so I will set some too.

This is become my daily blog: I just know you guys want to hear from me again! Just chopped onions, sweet peppers, from the garden. Used up the last of some drying out mushrooms, an old jar of half used fettuccini sauce, and some wheat torties, with my own eggs to make breakfast burritos. Used up the last to make a toasted egg sandwich. Have to say I am very good at not throwing away food. Way good too! Gun is loaded, the bag of chicken bones and fat is hanging in the sun, plants watered, lunch and breakfast is fixed. Now just some TV before work. You all have a nice day now!!!

Always room in the bator and brooders... Especially now that there's a big growing pen! Thank god the leftovers go to the swap meet! In-laws pen is getting full fast! Baught my sister-in-law 4 SS Hamburgs and 3 Golden Lakenvelders (father-in-law only eats white eggs lol), it was her payment for feeding all of mine while I was away at the Stampede!

I had to miss the Stampede since I had to act like a responsible adult and make sure my job was permanent

really missed not seeing Blake and Brad, not to mention my cousin wanted to fly out from Cali and party like a Kansan-no ones come back here to see me for 15 yrs

Well lets see here. Had a nice visit from friends yesterday. Made a corn cake from scratch with hebs, sundried tomatoes, frozen corn and some jalipinos. turnied out real good! I would reduce the sugar next time, and maybe limit my herbs to some rosemarry and tyme. Still with green beans, new potatoes and onions; great garden produce. Its nice having all the cheekins in one pen.

10 minute chores. Only one place to worry about protecting from the coons. I need to get another one tonight to keep my pet vultures fed. Neighbors going to fix my gun keeps jamming up. Great trade off as they get free eggs and vegies. I think were about to go into a heat egg reduction. Guess that means broodies.

Wow that was weird got some text posting of BYC Good ol boys. You guys and gals that don’t have dial up, don’t know what you’re missing!!! Guess you can’t appreciate it unless you haven’t worked for it. Leads me to say that; if you got a duck with eyes like I saw the other day you need to be propagating them.
Well what ever; just sautéed some chicken that had been brining in some teriyaki and herbs. Add in a few garden squash and some onions and its heaven. Man chicken bones and what ever make a great broth for the rice, So onions with sautéed chicken and your favorite herbs over rice in said broth; well oh my God I am fat and its not going away soon. I used to watch that show like something chef not sure what it’s called. You know the one with the jerk who sells hatred and abuse because he can’t cook any more. The butter boy who you can slather food with butter and he will like it, and the arrogant well dressed guy who thinks looks of a plate means more than taste! Wow what I couldn’t teach them but then they were bought to sell arrogance! ( channel 4) So tonight; sautéed chicken with squash over a bed of herb roasted rice.
That takes me back to a beautiful thing; the duck with eyes that need to continue.
