Dag gone it that fox just sucked down another welsumer. My hide is so chapped!
He was there yesterday but scared him off. Found his hole today. Dug under. He must pace the fence daily.

Mike i think we need to sit out there first thing in the morning one weekend and shoot this jerk for you.

Oh yes we do! I am so sad I just have to do a double on the medine bottle. Good thing I am canning tomotes tomorrow they will have something to eat other than basic chow. They are not getting out for a while. Poor girls were so hot there outrage and excitement lasted about 5 minutes. Too hot to even jump in the trees. I just feel so defeted right now. This jerk has been hitting me for at least three years. Its time to end this! I no longer have compassion for him or his family!

Mike is this fox trap shy? I use box traps alot. Got a huge coon last night. If that dont work, I use a 6mm BR Norma for prairie dogs out past 600 yards. If you can see him, you can end him... Just need a spot to set up and daylight enough to see thru the scope. A 105 grain A-Max does real bad things to dirty, bird eaters... Bill

Spice up a store bought leg quarter with rat poison or you could try what this lady does https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6947570#p6947570

Well i am in the same boat. I have been so darn sick since Michelle and I went swimming in perry lake last weekend that I havent been able to finish predator proofing and I lost two more pheasants lastnight. I need a box trap or two or someone who just wants to help me rid this jerk of his life. In the last week it has taken almost ten birds.
think I am gonna have to go to the Dr. Today before I die. BtW dont swim in the lake. This is the sickest I think I have ever been that I can remember. Hope none of you ever experiance this EVER!

This fox is trap shy. Leg hold box traps etc. Yet he is some what bold. I am thinking we could call him up and get him against the fence. Perfect place to lie on the roof of the chicken house. Has an awning that would block most of his view.
He is way bold but you can’t see him. Two days ago he tried to attack a hen while I was in the pen and just 20 feet away. The previous week mowed the weeds along the fence and he staid in place until I made my second round just 10 feet from the mower. If he only took a bird a year I could live with that, but in the last 2 weeks he took 3 of my best layers and 3 young chicks.
I shot a coon last night with the 22. I am not the shot I used to be as a kid guess it’s my eyes. Fortunately I was able to shoot multiple times. I may use Daren’s idea too. I just hate poison for any reason. Ok off to pick tomaters

Well all good but hate to see a good trap get ruined just for a visual.
Picked my tomaters and okra and cucumbers then checked on my birds. coons got at my silky last night. I think they ate her toes off through the wire.Never would have thought they could get her through rabbit wire. I think she will live but want to see the red mist myself. Here in and about we have almost as many coons as chickens now.
Oh well; I just have to move forward.
