Good points about ducks?

I've been told that chicken poop is a bit "hot" to go straight onto a garden, that it can burn plants roots..does duck poop act the same way?

I use poopy bedding right on the seeds. They sprout like mad. Duck poop is pretty watery. It doesn't seem to burn anything in my garden.

LOL I dont have any practical reasons (besides eggs of course) but Ducks just make DH and myself feel good, its theraputic to have them in the yard quacking and chuckling away to each other... we just love them.

Noriko - my runners were the worst for not wanting to go in. so after dark I would go out with a flashlight and herd them in, keeping the light of the flashlight ahead of them and directing them. ONce you get close to the coop, keep teh light on the door so they can see - they usually hop in.

After a couple of times doing this they started going in on their own.

My aussies don't always go in, so after dark same thing, go out and herd them in.
