It's about market forces!
Most people in the USA are far from their food supplies, and expect groceries that grow in packages at the market to be as inexpensive as possible. So meat processing plants are staffed by folks who aren't paid well, and production lines are moving faster all the time, ignoring worker health and safety. Slaughter plants are very dangerous places to work, and worse with Covid19.
We know that it's not possible to raise poultry or eggs and compete on price with commercial operations!
When testing is done, something like 80% of chicken at the store is contaminated with some bacteria or other!
