Electric fencing is the solution here, or continue to have coyote dinners available, or keep the flock in their safe coop and run.

For me, coyotes are not the biggest threat at night. I can keep chickens in trees year round even with owl pressure so long as dogs have free access to area below.

I have extensive bushes and trees near mine... but coyotes are sneaky and determined. Coyotes will take them in broad daylight. When I have the yearling cattle in the home pasture, they are so active, then tend to push the coyotes out, then I can free range a bit. But bushes and trees, have not been a solution to coyotes for me in predator control.
