Stripes, the Blue Cuckoo Marans cockerel who came as the extra chick with my Welp order, just left for his new home with 5 Cuckoo Marans girls who are just enough older than he is to teach him some manners as he grows up.

His new owner and I talked for a while and come spring we'll exchange hatching eggs -- her Cuckoo Marans for my Blue Australorps.

I don't have a problem eating spare cockerels, but he is so beautiful that I figured he deserved a chance to be more than a chicken dinner.
